Basically, what console do you prefer to play certain games on... or just in general.
Why does is make a difference?

I'll start by saying I prefer shooters on the xbox for the controller layout, and the bandwith required to play online with the xbox is higher than the ps3. That means less likely to lag. Smile

Fighting games, id go with ps3 for tournaments, but when I'm at home I really don't wanna wait 5 minutes to update player data or some crap.... althoug the xbox doesn't push the constat frame rate that the ps3 does.
So, when tournament time comes, 5 minutes is prep time for a beautiful match with that more perfect frame rate.

I def say Xbox for the FPS's. The stick layout is alot more comfortable for me on an xbox controller but on the other hand trying to play MK on xbox with the xbox dpad is def a no go. I have to say playstation on the fighting games if your using the pad. Now stick either or is fine with me and as far as loading it doesnt really bother me.

IF there were more FPS on the PS3 and leaving out the factor that Xbox had 2+ years on it to develops games and amass millions of owners and them to develop a comfort for the Xbox pad... I feel that people would prefer PS3 version for shooters, but we've become accustomed to using its pad for FPS since 2005!

Fighting it is a proven fact that people prefer to use a PS3 pad over Xbox 360 due in part because of the d-pad. Now we have fightsticks, so it shouldn't matter what console its played on, it will come down to personal preference.

For online gaming... Xbox because of the netcode and online infrastructure.

Well id prefer xbox for anything online due to its higher requirements to play over xbox live.
But for offline deals like tournaments... it doesn't matter if you play fighting games if you play with a stick.

It doesn't matter if you play with a stick? Care to elaborate on that?

At that point, it is more about the frame rates and the input lag (+/-) being displayed.

I was saying that if you play using a stick instead of a d-pad, it won't really matter what console you play on, right? As long as you have a stick for each console.

But as far as frame rates for each game, how much do you think affects tournament gameplay?
I know the timings for combos on games like tekken are different on the xbox as they are on playstation.

No, I was saying that owning a stick for each console is only one factor out of many. Some fighting games run differently on different consoles, so adjusting to the changes may take some people some time thrown in with other existing factors.

They have a star wars mmo. But they should have one for console gamers.
Since most gamers now days have a console and not the average person has a high end computer like us. Lol

I wish they had a .hack mmo for america. Japan had one for the ps2.
Man that game would be fun to play with friends. =D

yea it would only make sense to put the star wars game on console also, but yea if .hack was released as an mmo instead of a long and annoying rpg game i think it would of done way better also would love to make someone go into a coma

Your working on mass effect 3?
Lies! This sounds to good to be true!
YOU LIE!! Shocked

I hope they keep the same shooting systems from mass effect 2.
That gun sway effect from the first one was annoying! ='O

You graduated HS yet? I'm not trying to insult your intelligence, but I'm sure I just stated that I was working on the new SW MMO, SWTOR (Star Wars: The Old Republic)

We have a dev kit with ME3 in the break room, but I don't see anyone playing it... actually. My bad, it's a build of DA2.

The only fighting game id play on xbox over playstation is mvc3 for some odd reason.
I'm just so used to the xbox controller that I can't play using the playstation controller.
