Re: friday night fights
I like the name... instead of 'Lights'... 'Fights' and it goes well together.
Will there be point degradation implemented each week? How long is the series? A monthly thing?
Cuz for a monthly... all a person has to do is take 1st place twice in a month, and they will either place 1st overall at the end of the month or tie with another person who has won 1st twice as well.
With the degradation system, it gives people a chance to gain points if they were not able to attend the last FNF and an incentive to those who previously places to remain on top and not lose points.
I think we should get together to come up with some type of formula if you want to go that route or something. I like the idea of the points, but maybe I'll go read more on how you have it setup then I'll give you comments on it.
I would do all games Friday, but its my daughters birthday and some of the guys were invited... it starts at 5, so not sure how many are going, nor do I know what time the FNF starts... I will get into Killeen late if I'm working overtime... will keep you posted.

Re: friday night fights
Yeah the link is Friday Night Fights I just did a month series as a starter to see how many people would actually be able to show up each week but with some incentive for extra cash. If it goes well then I def would like to stretch the series out and figure out a way to implement a degradation system. I was looking to start them around 7ish and if it was to become a large scale event then make it start a little earlier.
Re: friday night fights
I can see the Friday night fights becoming a main source of business for PG.
Good for you as well as the players. I love the idea of having a tournament lasting a "season" to win bigger bucks, and being able to test my skill often.

Re: friday night fights
Try another ucc tournament or something as big, and sponsor a player to play among pros.
It can be done cause we had some seriously legit players like stone and jan from the last tournament.
We just have to show that there are a lot of great players here and should be placed among higher competition.

NEWS FLASH!
Time to discuss PG's first Friday night Fight (FnF).
Combak's superskrull is beast! Lol
Good game bro!
A lot of good players came tonight and I'm glad to have met a lot of them. (Still putting names to faces, lol)
*edit* shouldn't this thread be somewhere not in the tournaments section? If so, can it be moved?

Lol, if anything, I gotta take out superskrull with a passion in order to stand a chance.
Have you played teams like mine before? Or was my team lacking something, other than not knowing how to treat your superskrull.

I like your team. You know what you're doing, but I can suggest a few things.
You are predictable. Using Sent alpha assist and going for the cross-up is good, but you were trying to do that over and over and I caught on. Although... I was really trying to see what you had to offer and you didn't disappoint. With Morrigan, you can slow down her combos some so that you can land more of them without dropping your opponent. There was many times that you dropped combos with her, ending with me the chance to escape and keep out to gather myself. Bryan can play Morrigan really well. Sentinel is Sentinel, nothing different there from Brock's or Jacob's Sentinel. Don't take that as an insult, just using examples. I'm still adjusting from MvC2 Sent to MvC3 Sent. I just recently touched MvC3 again over the weekend at the tourney, so I must apologize if I wasn't good enough. Working overtime and having a family takes a lot of your free time away.
I wouldn't change the order of your time. If anything, your point and anchor and that is it, leave Sent as #2. Wesker both a good anchor and point character. Another thing I wanted to point out is you 'style' of play. I don't know what you call it, but blowing 3 meters when I have less than 20% health is not very smart. Yes, a team super is flashy and pretty, but how does that set your point character for when the next character comes into play? What about chip damage opportunities or safe DHCs?
I kept fucking up a lot that night. I don't like playing on Bryan's stick, nor on SEs. Bryan's stick because it kept sliding all over the place and the SE because they are too light when playing on a surface. You need to come over to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber the next time I host a session. If you need a ride, we got you.
Actually, add me to facebook, then check out my albums [Gaming and Friends]. I just added pics of the updated/modified setup in the man cave. ~ Rodolfo Camarena (Rotendo)
It was a pleasure meeting you, George. Good games.

Re: friday night fights
Yea, I already stopped wasting hyper gauges after that last night of gaming and instead go for a mix up to finish them off, works everytime!
I don't play stick, and I was trying to practice that for next FnF. That's why I dropped all those combos. I can't do a morrigan combo on stick yet, but that's not going to stop me from keeping her.
I been trying out new teams that most people don't use at tournaments in order to have a more unique fighting ability. Also, I looked at superskrull.. all missions cleared, easy stuff.
I'm also practicing some tight stuff to better my wesker, so watch out, I'm starting to read everyone in slow motion! Lol
Thx for the advice rodolfo, notes taken. Although I can't find you on facebook, add me?
George basil, I got a spongebob avatar picture... I don't like taking pictures of myself

John has some "bussiness cards" at the front counter, so just ask him and get some to pass out.
I know I passed out a bunch some before, maybe I should pass out more....

hey john for the next fnf put in mvc2 instead of windjammers since ill be winning that forever plus it seems the hype for it has gone down either that or tekken...i might have some more people come by (if they ever get out the house) but yea got to find another game for the fill of windjammers.

What time are we gonna start usual or when everyone shows? I'm ready to keep my spot at the top of 3s..and i'm thinking of doing SSF4:AE and maybe MvC2 if that is the game we pic..
Re: friday night fights
Casuals start when you come in till we close, the start time has been iffy cause of all the late people but thats no biggie...sometimes, and melty blood is the winner.
